The journey of Red Tavern began in 1997 by then owners and visionaries Craig Thomas and Maria Venturino. In November of 2013, after a short stint of a second ownership, Rich and Chris Garcia jumped at the opportunity to purchase and protect this Chico landmark. Although we appreciate and respect yesteryears, we bring our own style to our restaurant. We are committed to providing the best in available produce and proteins produced in a sustainable, organic and responsible manner. We are committed to providing innovative, interesting and delicious cuisine. This country is a melting pot of people. In no other way can we see that as clear as within the styles of food we eat. We classify our food as New American. We define New American as exciting, innovative food prepared with hints and characteristics from all over this world. Our chefs are highly-trained, professional, imaginative and create our seasonal menu based on this concept. We believe in providing the best in service. This starts when you are greeted at our front door. We deliver upscale dining but we are not pretentious. Chris and I have a passion for service and we absolutely love our customers.
