Thank you for visiting our website. We are a family-owned and operated, locally-sourced restaurant. Our style of cuisine can be described as Upscale New American with very strong European influences. Our owners as well as Chef and Sous Chef are professional, highly-trained and very experienced.

We serve delicious artisanal cocktails. Our cocktail menu has a great balance of classic Prohibition-Style cocktails as well as seasonal cocktails developed by our talented mixologists. Our wine list certainly has popular vineyards and wineries you will be familiar with but it also has many boutique wineries from California as well as other American Wine Regions. We serve wines from Italy, France, Portugal, Spain, Austria and Israel, as well as many other countries. We are proud to have received awards for our wine list from Wine Spectator Magazine.

Being a family business we place a very strong emphasis on customer service and we believe it shows. Happy Hour is back at Red Tavern. Join us Monday thru Thursday from opening until 6pm in our dining room for delicious happy hour tapas and beverages. You may sit in our bar and enjoy all night happy hour every night of the week. All Night Happy Hour is only for bar seating, first come first serve.

“Hands down the best place in town. Service is consistently good, and so is the food. We brought our family in and they were able to make something special for our vegan family member. So accommodating! The service is always great. The owners are always present and always such a joy. This place has the best food in town, with a menu that changes seasonally there's always something different. The short ribs and beer salad are to die for. My husband always gets whatever pork they have, right now it's the pork chop. Only place I like to recommend for a great night.”

“Whether we choose to dine indoor or out, as a couple or with friends, the atmosphere, food and wine of this restaurant has been drawing my husband and I back again and again for a number of years. The owner and servers are friendly and welcoming. “Always eat here when in Chico. Awesome food, service and very nice people! Year or so ago, my wife ended up in the hospital in Chico from a bicycle accident, and they insisted on sending over a dessert on the house! Atmosphere is great inside, at the bar and on the patio. Had dinner during the holidays, and they were slammed, but the service did not suffer and the food was spectacular. Highly recommend you stop here if you are in the area.”

“This place is amazing. Ambiance is beautiful, intimate and relaxed, they patio is beautiful, a little something for everyone; service was a 10. The owners were phenomenal, very personable and you can tell they love what they do! The menu selection was great, and food was unbelievable. I definitely recommend it and will be back again!”
